1. How do you register for e-Buy?
You must have a catalog file in Advantage before you can participate in e-Buy. Log on at the VSC, http://vsc.gsa.gov. Use your Advantage password and contract number to log in.
2. How do you increase your prices?
Your Contracting Officer must approve Price increases first. If you have an across the board increase use the price adjustment feature under tools in SIP.
3. Are coordinator names and numbers on the VSC website?
A list of coordinator names and phone numbers is included in the start up kit.
4. How do we get a Start up kit?
The start up kit can be downloaded from the VSC at http://vsc.gsa.gov.
5. Are Contracting Officers required to approve the prices submitted through SIP?
Contracting Officers are not required to approve all submissions made using SIP.
6. At what point do you get checked off for being in GSA Advantage?
Once your file has been approved and accepted by the Contracting Officer, your information appears in Advantage within 24 hours.
7. Once registered on the VSC, do you have to register for SIP or EDI?
When registering at the VSC, you must indicate the method you will use to submit your catalog. Please remember to keep all registration information updated.
8. Why does the system crash when trying to import?
You may not have enough memory on your computer.
9. How would you delete imports?
To delete an import you can replace the files and import a new file.
10. Do you have to download SIP version 5.04 in order to upgrade, when currently using 5.03?
No, you can use the download upgrade function under communication.
11. Can you upgrade directly to 5.05 from 5.03?
No, you can use the download upgrade function under communication.
12. Are firewalls an issue?
Yes, if you have a firewall on your side, you may have trouble uploading a file using SIP. If you experience trouble uploading please call the VSC at 877-495-4849.
13. Is the format for import in the start up package?
Templates for importing data are located in the import folder C:\Program Files\SipV6\Import.
14. Can you import using excel files?
Yes, you can import using Excel, Text or DBF files.
