Mr. Leffler serves as the NWS liaison for the climate record, to NCDC, and is the NWS representative to the National Climate Extremes Committee. He develops NWS policy and procedures needed to ensure the integrity of the climate record; establishes requirements for climate observations and the climate record; and engages and coordinates with other NOAA offices, the academic community, and the climate community. Bob also evaluates issues that affect climate record accuracy and continuity, recommends changes and improvements, and assesses and seeks resources necessary to implement changes and improvements.
