Since November 1, 2005, an unknown White male suspect has robbed at least a dozen banks in the metropolitan Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, area. He initially began robbing banks in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia, thereby leading him to be dubbed the "Port Richmond Robber." During each robbery, the unknown suspect generally passes a demand note to a victim teller. The notes threaten that the suspect has a gun or an explosive device. After taking the money, the suspect fled each bank on foot.
It appears as though the suspect may prefer to commit his robberies on weekdays, usually between 11 a.m. and 12 noon. He usually dresses in work style clothing, possibly clothing worn by a construction worker. He also usually wears some type of hat.
