THE CRIME

Jorge Sanchez-Aguilera is wanted for his alleged involvement in the abduction of his son, Edwin Sanchez-Gonzalez, from Siler City, North Carolina. Sanchez-Aguilera has been involved in a custody dispute and a domestic violence order has been issued against him. On October 1, 2006, Sanchez-Aguilera and accomplices allegedly entered the child's home while armed with handguns, bound adult occupants, and fled with the child. Sanchez-Aguilera's accomplices have been arrested, but his whereabouts remain unknown.

On October 1, 2006, a felony arrest warrant was issued by the State of North Carolina, Chatham County, General Court of Justice, Fifteen B Prosecutorial District, after Sanchez-Aguilera was charged with first degree kidnapping and first degree burglary. Sanchez-Aguilera was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution by the United States District Court, Middle District of North Carolina, on October 3, 2006, and a federal warrant was issued for his arrest.
