DOCLINE -- Canceling a "Borrow" Request

Question: How do I cancel a "Borrow" request?
Answer:

You can cancel your Borrow request from the Status/Cancel window by following the below steps.

  1. Select Requests, then Status/Cancel from the DOCLINE main menu.
  2. Enter the request number and click Go.
OR

  1. Under Set search limits, select DOCLINE/Borrow/Pending. Set Begin to 0 and End to 40 days. Click Go on the far right side of the window.
  2. Once the request(s) are displayed, select the Cancel checkbox next to the number of the request(s) you wish to cancel.
  3. Click the Cancel Checked Items button.

Notes:

If the item has been received, the Cancel action will be marked "pending," as the Lender may already be filling your request. If the request has been updated as "Not Filled," then the request will be canceled.

If the item has been "filled" or "retired", a checkbox will not appear, as you are unable to cancel a request with a final action status.
