scholarship searches listed under 10 different categories, federal and state
financial aid information, general financial aid information, college saving

There is a very large number of scholarship websites on the Internet, be

The Paul V.
Sherlock Memorial Scholarhsip
The RI Student Loan Authority established The Paul V. Sherlock Memorial
Scholarship in 2004 following the passing of Representative Sherlock. This
scholarship is awarded to twenty-five Rhode Island students each year to honor
Rep. Sherlock’s legacy as a champion of education. Rep. Sherlock, a dedicated
18-year board member of the RI Student Loan Authority, improved access to
services and financial aid to help more Rhode Island students attain a higher
education.
Rep. Sherlock was a tireless advocate throughout his career for those with
developmental disabilities, learning disorders, and mental illness. He was
widely regarded as the father of special education programs in Rhode Island.
While in elected office, Sherlock rose through the leadership ranks, serving as
Chairman of the House Finance Committee, a position held until his death in
2004. Prior to his tenure in the Rhode Island House of Representatives, he
worked as a Professor at Rhode Island College. The college houses the Paul V.
Sherlock Center on Disabilities.
The College Planning Center of Rhode Island will begin accepting applications
for the Paul Sherlock Scholarship on April 1, 2006 for enrollment in September
2006. Applications are available at the College Planning Center or this web
site. For additional information, please contact the College Planning Center of
Rhode Island.
