bullet   Purpose
The goal of these Program Announcements is to increase scientific understanding of the nature of health literacy and its relationship to healthy behaviors, illness prevention and treatment, chronic disease management, health disparities, risk assessment of environmental factors, and health outcomes including mental and oral health. These programs support fundamental research (R01) and small research projects (R03).

NLM's participation is confined to applications that address the intersection of informatics and health literacy.
