Scholarship Information

The Scholarship Committee of the West Point chapter of the Society of the Daughters of the United States Army (DUSA) welcomes your interest in applying for one of our academic scholarships to assist your collegiate education.

To be eligible to receive a DUSA scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

   Scholarships for High School Seniors
  • be a graduating high school senior
  • the son or daughter of an active, retired or deceased U.S. military service member whose family resides at West Point (or within a 35 mile radius of West Point) at the time the scholarship is awarded
  • submit the Scholarship Application Form, fully and accurately completed, along with three Letters of Recommendation.
  • scholarship application for the 2008-09 school year must be postmarked by April 1, 2008.
   Scholarships for Continuing Education
  • be a member in good standing with the West Point Chapter of the Society of the Daughters of the U.S. Army (DUSA) and paid annual membership dues prior to September 30, 2007, or within 30 days of arrival at West Point, whichever came later.
  • applicant must live on or within a 35-mile radius of West Point, New York
  • show proof that they are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university with the intent of updating profession, completing a degree program or enhancing career and are a high school graduate (or equivalent)
  • did not receive one of the Spring 2007 high school senior scholarships from the West Point Chapter of the Society of the Daughters of the U.S. Army (DUSA)
  • submit the Grant Application Form, fully and accurately completed
  • due date for applications: Spring 2008 applications must be postmarked by January 31, 2008 to be eligible.

Scholarship funds are intended to pay for tuition, books and fees for degree, certificate or other professional programs at accredited institutions of higher learning.

Scholarships will not be awarded to those attending one of the service academies.
