Summary - Enforcement Actions Against Non-Licensees Under 10 CFR Part 72

On October 15, 1999, the Commission published a revision to the Enforcement Policy to clarify that enforcement action may be taken against non-licensees for violations of 10 CFR Part 72, "Licensing Requirements for the Independent Storage of Spent Nuclear Fuel and High-Level Radioactive Waste." This policy revision was published concurrent with an amendment to Part 72 that expanded its applicability to holders of, and applicants for, Certificate of Compliance.
