Abstract
A full-scale fire test was conducted at Underwriters
Laboratories Inc. on September 15, 1978. The test was to
demonstrate the effectiveness of a ceramic fiber blanket
and automatic fire suppression system to protect cables in
a vertical cable tray configuration that is currently
permitted by separation criteria guidelines. An open pool
fire fueled by liquid hydrocarbon was used. This was one
of a series of tests to demonstrate the response of various
cable arrangements and fire protection features in exposure
fires.
