Unnamed Luna (Ye-1/2) Mission to Moon
Unnamed Luna (Ye-1/2):
Like its predecessor Ye-1/1, this simple probe was a pressurized spherical object made from aluminum-magnesium alloy. The goals of the mission were to study interplanetary matter, cosmic radiation and the magnetic fields of the Moon and Earth.

Resonant vibrations caused the probe's booster rocket to explode 104 seconds after liftoff. The spacecraft was destroyed.
