Martin R. Quinn

Term of Appointment: 08/09/2005 to present

Martin R. Quinn assumed his position as Deputy Chief of Mission in Abu Dhabi August 9, 2005.

Mr. Quinn joined the U.S. Foreign Service in 1983. He has served at American overseas missions in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar, Israel (working also in Gaza), and Turkey. In addition to Arabic and Turkish language and area studies, his Washington assignments have been: Chief, Academic Exchanges for North Africa, Middle East and South Asia, 1995-99, and Director, Office of Press and Public Diplomacy, Bureau of Near East Affairs, 2003-05. He is a member of the Senior Foreign Service, Class of Officer-Counselor.

Mr. Quinn studied at the University of Maryland and at the Pennsylvania State University and received Fulbright awards in Iran and Egypt.
