Text transcript from the video "Mariners Service"
- March 29, 2004

Narrator

If you're heading to a Mariner a game this season, why not let Metro Transit take you right to the front door of Safeco field? Metro can do this with either regular or premium bus service.

Doug Bligh/Metro Transit

Metro Transit is offering premium service to and from designated Park and Rides in the outlying areas directly to Safeco field and home again on the weekends. On weekdays we provide only post-game service. Premium service means that it's a special fare, where the customer pays a larger fare than you would on a regular in-service bus. The fare for this premium service is $2.50 in each direction.

Narrator

Baseball fans who have ridden Metro to games in the past, need to be aware that after game loading locations have changed.

Doug Bligh/Metro Transit

There's a big difference this year in that they've completed the construction project for the Atlantic Street overpass, which connects to both Northbound Interstate-5 and Eastbound I-90. And because of that, all of the locations where the buses are parked around the station are going to change this year. Last year we were affected by traffic restrictions that were continuing because of the construction on the Atlantic Street overpass and we were delayed sometimes in getting out of the stadium. This plan will hopefully give us a much quicker exit from the stadium. Customers who are going into the Northgate area who are used to catching their bus parked Northbound on South Royal Brougham Way on the North side of the stadium, will now catch their bus in front of the parking lot, which is on the South side of the stadium on Occidental Avenue South. Buses that went to the Eastside, both the South Kirkland Park and Ride and to the Mercer Island, South Bellevue and Eastgate Park and Rides that were parked along First Avenue here on the North side of Atlantic Street, will now be parked on the South side of Atlantic Street.

Narrator

If you have questions about Park and Rides that offer the Mariners service or the boarding locations, you can find them listed, along with maps on Metro Online, just go to www.metrokc.gov follow the links to Transportation and Metro Online, then Updates and Special Event Serviceā€¦and you're off to the game.

Doug Bligh/Metro Transit

It's a great way to come see a Mariner game, on the weekends you arrive at one of our Park and Rides where there's plenty of parking, you catch a bus, we provide service every 30-minutes starting two-and-a-half hours prior to the game, an easy ride downtown to the stadium here on First Avenue and then a quick ride home from the stadium. No extra cost for parking, no hassle in fighting your way through traffic to get home.
