Name: Rachel Robichaux and Carly Knaff
Location: Fort Collins, Colorado, United States
Rachel and Carly learned about Darfur through a course they took at Colorado State University. Their initial idea was simply to raise a small amount of money to donate to an organization working on these issues. They figured they could create and sell some t-shirts about Darfur, and donate the profits. Little did they know how successful this venture would be, and where it would lead them.

"We came up with a conceptual design and actually found a graphic artist who did the work for free as he had been to Sudan," Rachel explains. "We ordered the shirts and before we even received them they were sold out. It was that simple. And thus was born Deliver Darfur, our not-for-profit, student-run advocacy group."

The success of their apparel sales (which also include bandanas and handbags) enabled them to donate $2000 to the International Rescue Committee. In addition to fundraising Deliver Darfur has embarked on an educational and advocacy campaign. They have organized screenings of The Devil Came on Horseback, and held information sessions at their school's Holocaust Awareness Week and Africa Action Week. The group hosted a merchandising tent at Warped Tour and also walked from stage to stage talking to the concert goers about the crisis in Darfur and collecting donations.

Currently, they are in the process of planning a benefit concert for the fall to be held at a popular local coffee shop. As Rachel and Carly near the end of their undergraduate careers they are making arrangements for a new generation of students to take over the group at CSU, and plan on starting new chapters of the organization at their respective graduate schools.
