Collaboration between the Divisions of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and Employment & Training (E&T) is on the rise in Delaware. The agencies are co-located at all four of the state's One-Stop center. Individuals can drop in to use the computerized job search, resume writing program, telephones, and fax machines. One-Stop staff is available to assist individuals with their job search.

In Georgetown, Delaware, DVR's School to Careers Transition Program teaches students to get up close and personal with their local One-Stop. The Sussex County transition team from DVR brings every transition student from each of the twelve districts into the One-Stop center. An employment specialist from the One-Stop staff orients the students to the resources in the center. Each student has the opportunity to register with the One-Stop, to use the computers and other equipment, to use the Virtual Career Network, and take the Career Scope, an automated aptitude test and interest inventory which provides students with an idea of their strengths and weaknesses combined with their areas of interest to help them consider logical career choices.

Once the connection is made, students have the choice of continuing to use the One-Stop center to independently explore options and job openings. The close partnership between DVR and E&T staff fosters communication between the agencies and with the student. The Sussex County transition team served a total of 169 students in FY 2003 all of whom received One-Stop services.
