Description
 
NASA/KSC has a requirement for a one year maintenance agreement for laboratory instruments. Item #1 Polaris Q w/ Trace Ultra GC Serial no. MS110139. Item #2 Polaris FID Detector Serial no. 119900-0511. Item#3 Single stage linear quadrupole mass spec material DSQ115LT Serial no. MS110107. Item# 4 DSQ115LT FID Detector Serial no. 119900-0511. Item #5 Nicolet 6700 Optical Spectrometer Serial no. AGB0500480; Item#6 1 VALPRO Annual Certification. Item#7 Nicolet FT-IR X700 AEM Serial no. AET0500286. Item#8 Nicolet Continuum Serial no. AFK0501263. Item#9 Polyscan ICP Serial no. 34382.

NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Thermo Electron Corporation. The reason for the restriction is that the maintenance is for existing Thermo Electron equipment that supports operations for several programs including the Shuttle.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to maria.m.figueroa@nasa.gov not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on June 9, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.

Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
