Spend the day walking along the beaches of the North Carolina Coast where the Atlantic Ocean can be experienced. Here are the unique and unspoiled Outer Banks where the Cape Hatteras National Seashore is located. One of the main attractions for the city of Wilmington is the Battleship North Carolina, which is a memorial for World War II veterans. Located in the North Carolina Heartland is the capital city of Raleigh and the neighboring cities of Durham and Chapel Hill. Much of North Carolina's outdoor activities, such as skiing, hiking and biking take place in the North Carolina mountains. Asheville is known for having America's largest private house, the Biltmore Estate.
