WASHINGTON – The United States Mint
announced today that 50,000 limited-edition North Dakota Official First Day
Coin Covers will be available online at www.usmint.gov, beginning at noon
(ET) on September 25, 2006.
Priced at $19.95, the North Dakota Official First Day Coin Cover features
two North Dakota commemorative quarter-dollar coins from July 31, 2006, the
first day of mintage – one each bearing a mint mark from the United States
Mint facilities at Philadelphia and Denver.
Each limited-edition coin cover includes the two quarters on a handsome
display card with a 39-cent Lady Liberty and Flag postage stamp. The
postmark of August 28, 2006, Jamestown, North Dakota, marks the day the
North Dakota commemorative quarter-dollars were first released to the
Federal Reserve Bank and to the public.
The United States Mint 50 State Quarters® Program honors the states in
the order that they ratified the United States Constitution or were admitted
into the Union. Five commemorative quarters are issued each year from 1999
through 2008, at approximately 10-week intervals.
Customers can purchase the North Dakota Official First Day Coin Covers online
