U.S. Mint Announces New Spring 2000 Catalog

Washington, D.C., April 10, 2000 – The United States Mint today announced a new Spring 2000 Catalog will be available this week, featuring the first of the Mint’s 2000 product line in addition to some favorite gift items.

“As you browse the pages of our new Spring Catalog, you will see the exciting collection of exquisitely crafted coin jewelry and unique coin collectibles for all ages, price ranges, and tastes,” said Acting U.S. Mint Director John Mitchell. “Just in time for Mother’s and Father’s Day, and graduation, these products make wonderful gifts.”

The Mint’s ultimate millenium gifts, featuring the Golden Dollar--the first dollar coin in a generation, include the pendant, bolo, and key ring. These pieces are available with either the Sacagawea obverse or the soaring eagle reverse displayed.

The feather pendant ($24.95), an exquisite nickel-plated necklace on a 20” barlink chain features two motifs from nature–a sunburst and eagle feathers. Enhancing the dangling feathers are beads of snowflake obsidian from the historic hunting grounds of the Shoshone people.

The 30” western string nickel-plated bolo tie ($19.95) has a Native American flair. The bolo slide features an oxidized background highlighting triangle accents, which surround the Golden Dollar coin.

The pewter key ring ($12.95) has the look and feel of a smooth, grey river stone. The Golden Dollar is securely embedded and ancient Native American petroglyphs from sites in Wyoming and Montana adorn the front and back.

Collectors and gift-givers interested in the products featured in the Spring 2000 Catalog, should place orders as soon as possible.
