Endangered Species and Pesticides - North Dakota's Mapping Program

Date Posted: December 22, 1999

Work is almost finished on an interactive mapping system which allows the user to start with a state level map and end with a detailed, site-specific map showing the potential of a restricted use pesticide getting into an area with endangered species. Users can use point and click maps or a series of pull-down menus to navigate through the process. This model is being developed using ArcView GIS software and is initially geared to pesticide applicators and managers in both agriculture and natural resources. The final step will be to place this model (with modifications) on the Internet for general public use.
