High Rate of Tumors in Catfish from the Anocostia River in Washington, D.C.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Chesapeake Bay Field Office has released their final report on the 2000-2001 tumor survey of the tidal Potomac River watershed. The survey found that brown bullhead (Ameiurus nebulosus), a species of catfish, collected from the Anacostia River in Washington, DC had high rates of both liver and skin tumors.
