CSCOR Scientists Have Large Presence at the International Coral Reef Symposium

Researchers from the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) Center for Sponsored Coastal Ocean Research (CSCOR)-supported projects will present 83 posters and oral presentations at the 11th International Coral Reef Symposium (ICRS) being held in Ft. Lauderdale, FL July 7 – 11, 2008.  This meeting is one of the largest international gatherings that bring together researcher, managers, policy makers, non-governmental organizations, and the general public to share and discuss the latest scientific information on coral reefs.  Currently, over 2,500 abstracts have been submitted from 114 countries to participate at ICRS.  NOAA alone will have over 195 presentations at the event.   The National Coral Reef Institute, administered by NOAA’s NCCOS/CSCOR, a core component of NOAA’s Coral Reef Conservation Program, is co-sponsoring this conference.  For more information about ICRS see http://www.nova.edu/ncri/11icrs/ , or contact Felix Martinez at Felix.Martinez@noaa.gov
