FAQ: Who Has Cited a Reference?

Question: Can I search MEDLINE (using PubMed) to find out how many times an article, author, or journal has been cited?
Answer:

PubMed/Medline doesn't have the number of times an article, author, or journal is cited; nor does PubMed/Medline have journal impact factor information.

Check with a librarian at your local medical or university library for help locating non-NLM resources that have citation and impact factor information, such as the ISI Web of Knowledge® (Web of Science, Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index) and Journal Citation Reports.
