Upcoming plans

Upcoming plans include our next research cruise to the NeMO seafloor observatory. This is scheduled for August 26-September 9, 2006 on the R/V Thompson with the ROPOS ROV to recover and redeploy monitoring instruments and seafloor experiments at Axial volcano. Axial volcano erupted in 1998 and is the site of a multi-year observatory project which is studying how hydrothermal vents and their biological communities respond to volcanic events. Check out the NeMO web site for daily updates while the expedition is at sea.
