Mission Statement: To further
the mission of the Service by facilitating and enhancing communications
with Congress, advancing the Service’s legislative priorities,
and building stronger relationships with Congress.
Purpose: To identify
and implement the Congressional and Legislative priorities of the
Service and to promote the interests of the agency to Congress
through advocacy and education and by working closely with the
programs, the Regions, the Department of the Interior, other Federal
agencies, the States, and non-governmental organizations.
Congressional staff joined the Fish and Wildlife
Service and the Federal Highway Administration for a tour of National
Wildlife Refuges in Western Oregon, focusing on transportation planning,
transit, resource management, habitat restoration, community involvement,
and relationships with local, state, and federal partners.
