Poster Details
The color posters, size 11 x 17 inches, target the importance of hepatitis B vaccine among Asian and Pacific Islander children and are available in 7 languages. Each poster has a hepatitis B message in English and one of the following languages: Chinese, Vietnamese, Laotian, Korean, Tagalog, Samoan, and Cambodian. Culturally appropriate graphics, photographs, and designs have been incorporated into these seven distinct posters. Additionally, native speakers and bilingual health care professionals have reviewed all seven translations. The message on each poster is:
Hepatitis B: Are your Children Protected?
- Hepatitis B is a liver disease that can cause cancer and even death.
- Your children can be protected with a 3 shot series of the hepatitis B vaccine.
- Children born before 1992 in the U.S. and those born overseas probably did not get this vaccine.
- Call your doctor TODAY to see if your children need this important vaccine.

These posters were created by a task force comprised of representatives from a number of organizations, including the Immunization Action Coalition of Washington (IACW), WithinReach, the Department of Health (DOH) Immunization Program, local health jurisdictions, health care providers, and vaccine companies. Merck and Company and SmithKline Beecham provided the funding for these posters. Additional funding for the Cambodian poster provided by the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department.
