Pony Express National Historic Trail
Fees & Reservations

Possible Entrance & Activity Fees

Entrance and parking fees may be charged at some locations and hours vary at the discretion of the site administrator. Large groups are encouraged to make prior arrangements for tours, where available. Please respect private property by staying in public areas, and help protect our national heritage by leaving trail resources undisturbed.

The Links & Resources page of the website maintains a partial list of contact information for site managers as well as a bibliography of suggested reading materials.

These links will provide information about purchasing the National Park Golden Eagle & Parks annual passes and the lifetime Golden Age and Access passes (now called America the Beautiful Passes). There are no fees collected by the National Park Service for visiting the national historic trails, but some trail resources and sites are on federal lands managed by other agencies that do collect these fees. If you plan to visit a number of National Parks and Federal Land Management areas that have fees in the current year, you should read the information on these pages.
