Welcoming Remarks:  Chairman Robert Solomon welcomed the Committee and requested approval of the agenda.  The agenda was approved without modification.

Subcommittees:  Mr. Ryan Buras, Chair of the Unit Interior Subcommittee and Mr. Dominic Marinelli, Chair of the Definitions Subcommittee presented recommendations developed by each subcommittee.  Mr. Solomon requested committee members to work toward consensus regarding each subject.  Committee members were reminded that the full committee must approve the final report in order for it to advance to the Access Board for their consideration.  The final committee report should include minority views where such exist.  Mark Weiss, representing the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reserved the right to withdraw support or modify his position regarding specific items pending committee consensus regarding the definition of “emergency transportable housing”.

  12. Section 608.7 Thresholds (Roll-in showers)
  13. Section 702.1 Fire alarms (Smoke alarm batteries)

Next Meeting

Dates:  A conference call is scheduled for February 14, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon (Eastern time); an in-person meeting is scheduled for March 27-28, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on March 27 and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on March 28.  Both meetings are open to the public.  Interested persons can communicate their views during a public comment period scheduled during the conference call and at the meeting.
