available online through the American
Memory website. The Music Division houses
the prints
and handles reference work related to
the collection, while the Prints and Photographs
Division houses the negatives and color
transparencies.
All photographic prints must be obtained
directly from the Gottlieb estate. Reproductions
are not available from the Library of
Congress's Photoduplication
Service unless the Library is otherwise
directed by Gottlieb estate in writing.
Privacy and publicity rights may apply.
Access: Permitted; subject to P&P policy on serving
originals, which requires the use of digital images in lieu of the
original negatives.
Reproduction (photocopying, hand-held camera copying,
photoduplication and other forms of copying allowed by "fair
use"): Permitted,
subject to P&P policy on copying, which prohibits service of the original
negatives.
Publication and other forms of distribution: Restricted.
Mr. Gottlieb's photographs are protected
by copyright. Works created after January
1, 1978 are protected for the creator's
life plus
70 years. The
Gottlieb collection is made available
online with the permission of Mr. William
P. Gottlieb. Reproductions of the photographs
in
the collection
must be obtained directly from the Gottlieb
