Funding sources to community prevention training
Community Prevention Training System (CPTS)
Public Health - Seattle & King County has Washington State funding to support training related to substance abuse prevention within King County. For more information or to inquire about an application, please call Carol Jernigan at (206) 296-7584.

Application guidelines:
1. |
Must have application submitted at least 60 days prior to event. |
2. |
CPTS funds can only be used to increase the capacity of prevention providers to implement Western Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies (WestCAPT) "Best Practices," "Promising Approaches," and/or programs based on the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) Principles of Substance Abuse Prevention. Refer to the WestCAPT website www.casat.unr.edu/westcapt for more information on Best Practices and http://modelprograms.samhsa.gov/pdfs/pubs_Principles.pdf for CSAP's "Principles of Substance Abuse Prevention. |
3. |
Matching funds of 10 percent is required along with all receipts. |
4. |
CPTS funds can be used to cover the costs incurred in providing a training or attending a training. |

It is required that you include the trainer's resume and/or training brochure with your billing also include:
Copy of Check, Credit Card Receipt or Cash Receipt.
Copy of completed Registration Form. |

CPTS funds can only be used to increase the capacity of prevention providers to implement "Best Practices," "Promising Approaches," and/or programs within based on the Principles of Substance Abuse Prevention. |
7. |
Training is not considered approved until you have the written approval letter from Public Health. |
8. |
If approved, you will need to complete a CPTS Report Form and bill us 15 days after the event and attach to the reimbursement all receipts. If not invoiced within 15 days payment is not guaranteed. |
