NOAA's SURFRAD (Surface Radiation) Network supports the 2008 North American Solar Car Challenge

NOAA provided a special, real-time set of solar radiation data in support of the 2008 North American Solar Challenge [wikipedia.org], taking place July 13 - 22, between Dallas, Texas, and Calgary, Alberta. These data came from the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, SURFRAD station.

The race passed through Sioux Falls on July 18, 2008. The plot at right shows a clear morning in Sioux Falls, good news for the racers as they started that stage of their trek.
