Ceremony To Be Held September 24 in Coffeyville, KS Coffeyville, Ks. -- Amazon.com has earned membership in the prestigious U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) "Star" Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). A recognition ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 24. "Amazon.com has exhibited excellence in effective safety and health management at its Coffeyville facility," said Kansas City OSHA Regional Administrator Charles E. Adkins, CIH. "Their outstanding efforts have included significant employee training and involvement." The facility employs 320 workers who are engaged in the receipt, warehousing, and shipment of a wide range of products to U.S. and foreign customers. Companies that have been accepted into the Voluntary Protection Program represent more than 200 industries. From coast to coast, approximately 1,100 work sites participate in the VPP. Information kits about the VPP application and approval process are available from the VPP Manager at the OSHA regional office in Kansas City, Mo., at (816) 426?5861.
