  Welcome
The National Cancer Institute –Frederick is committed to reducing its consumption of natural resources, preventing pollution and protecting public health as part of its research mission. The objective of the NCI-F Environmental Management System to ensure this commitment is realized to the fullest practical extent. In keeping with the President’s Executive Order 13148 and with guidance from the Secretary of Health and Human Services, our EMS is based on the ISO 14001 international standard. The often repeated summary of the standard is “Plan – Do – Check – Act”.

Currently, the scope of this EMS includes only the following groups at NCI-F:
  • Acquisition and Logistical Services
  • Environment, Health & Safety
  • Facilities Maintenance & Engineering
There are several standing and ad-hoc committees

What's New
This webpage is divided into two overall sections: “Planning” and “Implementation”. The pages in each section contain documents in support of the standard. There is still much work left to do and these pages will be updated frequently.
