Bradfield's Plunge
Newly-discovered comet Bradfield (C/2004 F4) plunges toward the Sun in this SOHO spacecraft image. Comets that get so close to the Sun can become very bright and, sometimes, break apart. At it's closest approach on April 17, 2004, the comet was well inside the orbit of Mercury.
