US Government Agency access to NCI-Frederick Facilities/Services/Expertise

The laboratories operated by SAIC-Frederick Inc. at the National Cancer Institute at Frederick can provide U.S. government agencies, in addition to NCI, with leading-edge technologies and specialized expertise for an integrated and effective approach to contemporary problems in biomedical research.

These programs comprise a broad spectrum of highly integrated, advanced technologies and facilities, including genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, imaging, protein expression, histopathology, clinical monitoring and cGMP manufacturing.

Economy Act

Under the Economy Act, government agencies other than the National Cancer Institute, can access the cutting-edge technologies and partner with SAIC-Frederick biomedical research scientists whose work touches all aspects of scientific exploration, from routine laboratory processes to complex experimental design and interpretation and application of results. Working with SAIC-Frederick scientists enables investigators to extend their inquiries to depths and in directions perhaps otherwise inaccessible.

An interagency agreement established under the Economy Act allows a U.S. government agency to transfer allocated funds to another government agency to support work conducted by the second government agency on behalf of the first.

Example organizations that have ongoing interagency relationships with the NCI:
