Elizabeth Cady Stanton Park
Across Fall Street from the Wesleyan Chapel (pictured
in the background) is the entrance to Elizabeth Cady Stanton Park.
The Park was dedicated July 19, 1980, the same year in which the Women's
Rights National Historical Park was authorized by the Congress. |

Stairways from street level take visitors to Peoples'
Park and the banks of the Cayuga and Seneca Canal. One of the stairways
is beneath the (still standing) Seneca Falls arch, which frames the
Seneca Knitting Mills building in an early photograph on the Park's
Home Page. The mill, reflected in the picture at left, is still in
production, and operates an outlet store in Seneca Falls. |
The Bandstand in Peoples' Park is the site of many gatherings and
presentations scheduled during the annual Convention Days celebrating
the First Women's Rights Convention. Persons interested in attending
locally sponsored events are invited to contact the Seneca County
Chamber of Commerce at (800) 723-1848. |
