The mission of USDA Rural Development has changed from the days when we were known as the Farmer's Home Administration. While we continue to offer housing programs to assist families, we now offer an arsenal of expanded programs and services all aimed at improving the quality of life in your community and enhancing economic opportunity.

Among our agency's offerings, we have programs to finance public utilities infrastructure and construct community facilities as well as programs to help business and industry. Quite simply, our mission can be summarized in two words: Community Development.
