Wisconsin Disability Program Navigators
Navigating and Connecting Wisconsin Disability and Employment Resources and Systems.
About the Disability Program Navigators (DPNs)
Located within the WDAs, Disability Program Navigators (DPNs) help people with disabilities "navigate" through the challenges of seeking employment.
The Department of Labor (DOL) and Social Security Administration partnered to create the Disability Program Navigator within Job Centers.
The purpose of the Navigators is to expand the workforce development system’s capacity to serve customers with disabilities and employers. Navigators better inform job seekers about work support programs at Wisconsin Job Centers. These centers provide information, training, and other employment related services at a single customer-friendly location.
Wisconsin Job Centers are located within 11 Workforce Development Areas (WDAs) (pdf) designated by the Governor and based on population and other criteria. Each area has a Workforce Development Board (WDB) with a majority of members representing businesses and determines where Job Centers should be located to best provide employment and training services to the its local citizens.
