Summary:

The purpose of this comprehensive course is to give IHS Dental Chiefs, Tribal Clinical Dental Managers, and Dental Hygienists a better understanding of the “nuts and bolts” of dental program management. The course will include clinical data analysis/productivity improvement, personnel training, and problem solving. Additionally, personal awareness exercises will help managers with individual growth and development.

*The curriculum is flexible enough to address the individual needs of participants. Participants can expect pre-course communications and assignments.

NOTE: A forum for post-course follow-up will be developed to support managers with the implementation of skills and actions developed in the course.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

1. Understand and apply the basic concepts presented to better manage their program including personnel, budget and clinic management.
2. Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of their clinic(s) and apply appropriate measures to improve clinic function optimizing teamwork.
3. Understand communication, management and relationship issues related to a mixed generation workforce and emotional intelligence.
