Summary:

DENTAL ASSISTANTS NEED TO REQUEST ASSISTANCE FROM THEIR SUPERVISOR TO SELECT THIS COURSE. THE COURSE IS OFFERED IN YOUR CLINIC AND THE COST OF THE COURSE IS NEGOTIATED BETWEEN THE INSTRUCTOR AND THE DENTAL CHIEF.

This course is designed to provide the participants with the opportunity to share their knowledge and skills, and to experience different approaches to accomplishing endodontic radiographic exposures. Topics to be discussed will include the purposes of endodontics radiography, obstructions which are usually encountered when accomplishing endo projections, patients/film/x-ray tube positioning, and the need for accuracy and repeatability in technique.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Recognize and be able to describe an acceptable endodontic radiograph.
2. Work around the various obstructions to film positioning, such as rubber dam and frame.
3. Have a clearer understanding of when and why radiographs are exposed during an endodontic procedure.
4. Produce diagnostically useful endodontic radiographs.
