Summary:
The purpose of this course is to provide a review of Basic Restorative techniques and materials for those dental assistants who have previously completed the Basic Restorative Functions course and feel the need for a refresher course. This course will briefly re-introduce basic concepts of tooth anatomy, cavity classifications and basic restorations using alloy and composite materials, but will primarily be a hands-on course working with typodonts and doing restorations. |
Learning Objectives:
After completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
1. Determine the difference between an acceptable and unacceptable restoration.
2. Have a better understanding of tooth anatomy and morphology.
3. Understand where help is most needed when doing restorations. |
Prerequisites:
1. Completion of Basic Restorative Functions course.
2. Dental Assistant Assessment.
3. Supervising Dental Officer Assessment. |
