Purpose: This meeting provides a platform for basic and clinical scientists performing cutting-edge genetic and genomic research in the United States to meet their colleagues from Hong Kong, mainland China, and the surrounding areas. The goal is to increase the awareness of the role genetics and genomics play in daily life among the general public and health care providers and to enhance collaboration between scientists and clinicians of the Pacific Rim. The focus of the conference will be on the impact of genetic and genomic research on human biology and medicine.
