Membrane Biophysics of Fusion, Fission, and Rafts in Health and Disease

September 5-9, 2007

Sponsor/Co-Sponsor(s): Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biophysics (LCMB), Division of Intramural Research (DIR), NICHD; Office of Rare Diseases, NIH; and Society of General Physiologists (SGP)

Location: Woods Hole, Massachusetts
Purpose: The SGP annual meeting at the Marine Biological Laboratory is organized according to a triennial theme: Membranes and Synapses, Channels and Transporters, and Motility. The symposium offers a unique opportunity for physiologists at all stages of their careers to interact and discuss science in a very intimate atmosphere. The symposium includes talks this year’s topic—Membrane Biophysics of Fusion, Fission, and Rafts in Health and Disease—complimented by poster presentations on all topics of physiology. Abstracts are published in the July issue of The Journal of General Physiology. Students and postdoctoral fellows who enter the poster competition are eligible for cash awards of $500.
