Office of Private Sector Outreach

banner showing activities of private-public partnerships. State Dept photos

The Office of Private Sector Outreach works to develop and coordinate innovative ways for the State Department to engage the private sector in our public diplomacy initiatives.  The work of public diplomacy seeks to foster a sense of shared values between Americans and people of different countries, cultures and faiths throughout the world, and this is certainly not the work of government alone.

U.S. companies, universities and foundations represent the immense generosity and ingenuity of the American people, and their global presence and creativity make them not only invaluable resources, but natural partners in our efforts.

We are working to engage private sector leaders in dynamic partnerships to empower women business leaders, provide much needed humanitarian relief, strengthen international education, encourage health advocacy, and promote social and economic development throughout the world.

“The solutions to the challenges of the 21st century are not going to be met by government alone. They come from all sectors of American society working together."

                  --Secretary Condoleezza Rice
