Biosketch: 
Ondine von Ehrenstein, Ph.D., M.P.H., M.Sc., is a tenure-track investigator who joined the DESPR Epidemiology Branch in 2007. She conducted her doctoral research work at the Children's Hospital at the Ludwig-Maximilians University Medical School, Munich, Germany, and received her M.P.H. from the University of Bielefeld, Germany, and her M.S. in biology at the University of Bremen, Germany. She also did graduate training at the Mount Sinai Medical School in New York. Her research interests include child health related to environmental exposures (biomarkers), diet, and maternal health; respiratory illnesses, asthma, and early immune- and neurodevelopment; and children's and reproductive health issues in developing and transition countries related to environmental factors and social inequalities.
