Research Overview

Research in the Tissue Engineering Section focuses on (1) functional cell and tissue imaging, (2) design and fabrication of bioinductive and bioconductive biomaterials, (3) optimization of the microbiomechanical properties of engineered cells and tissues, and (4) isolation and expansion of tissue progenitor cells and targeted manipulation of their genomic activities and differential potential. The goal of these activities is to develop technologies and devices that are applicable for generating functional cartilage tissue substitutes.
