Destinations: Different types of stored energy releases, more traditionally known as 'quakes', occur throughout the solar system. Seismic activity which could constitute quakes has been observed on Venus. Also, along with quakes widely studied on Earth, there is evidence of moonquakes, as well as Marsquakes. A more unfamiliar kind of surface quake or ripple has been observed on the sun. The next time a quake occurs here on Earth, think of the many cosmic quakes occurring throughout the solar system and beyond.
Missions: This month, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Open House will happen May 20-21st in Pasadena, CA, USA. A flyby of Saturn's moon Titan will also occur this month on May 20th.
Features: Cosmic quakes of different kinds can be found throughout the solar system. The planet Venus in particular also has several exciting recent discoveries, and Apollo data from Earth's moon is getting a fresh look.
