Academic Information and Strategic Services - Led by Vice Provost Daniel Greenstein, is the Academic Affairs unit with an emphasis on collaboration with colleagues in OP and on the campuses to: Support the planning process to help the University think and act more as a system while maintaining each campus' distinctiveness and building on unique campus strengths; Support strategic systemwide initiatives that grow out of that process or any of the targeted planning efforts that emerge in its wake; Provide an administrative home for academic information services mounted on a systemwide basis:

Educational Relations Advances the University's strategic academic objectives to external audiences.  Its functions include academic communications, campus relations, inter-campus coordination, governmental and legislative affairs (state - UCCS – University of California Center in Sacramento, and federal - UCDC – University of California Washington DC Academic Center) related to academic issues, activities and studies related to the Master Plan for Higher Education, and intersegmental relations.

Immediate Office – Divisional Administration Coordination, Personnel/Payroll/Budget/Accounting Administration, Audit Liaison, Regents' Meeting Planning and Process, and Divisional Information Technology Resources/Services Management

International Academic Activities - Education Abroad Program, The American University of Armenia, UC's Cuba License, California House-London, Casa de California, Mexico City.

Academic Planning and Analysis – Conducts planning, analysis, and assessment for UC and promotes policy development and implementation, particularly with regard to long-range enrollment planning, improvement of undergraduate and graduate education, institutional quality and accountability, and budgetary analysis from an academic perspective

Research and Graduate Studies – Research Planning, Coordination and Management of Research Issues and Research Policy, Academic Conflict of Interest, Research Programs, Laboratory Programs

California Policy Research Center (CPRC) - A joint effort of the University of California and state government, the California Policy Research Center applies the extensive research expertise of the UC system to the analysis, development, and implementation of state policy through a variety of activities on a wide range of topics
Industry-University Cooperative Research Program (IUCRP)
Systemwide Biotechnology Research & Education Program

Student Affairs – Led by Vice President Judy Sakaki, responsible for Undergraduate Admissions, ASSIST, California Subject Matter Projects (CSMP), Campus Life, COSMOS, Doorways, Early Academic Outreach Program, MESA, Puente, Student Financial Support, University-Community Engagement, ASSIST Coordination, Research and Evaluation
