Oct. 21, 2008 -- Infant Deaths Prompt Largest Crib Recall in U.S. History
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced the recall of nearly 1.6 million Delta Enterprise Drop Side Cribs after the entrapment and suffocation deaths of two 8-month-old children. Two different recalls have been issued for two different hazards: Missing Safety Pegs and Spring Peg Failure. Oct. 20, 2008 -- The CPSC has announced the recall of 2,000 Playkids U.S.A. convertible crib/playpen/bassinet/beds due to the entrapment death of a 5-month-old child in New York. Click here for further information.
FedEx and NFL Promote Pedestrian Safety
Nov. 3, 2008 -- FedEx's Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Award Program is benefitting Safe Kids USA through donations to local Safe Kids coalitions nationwide throughout the 2008 NFL season.

Sept. 12, 2008 -- Safe Kids Clark County and University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where local statistics show that nearly 9 out of 10 car seats are improperly installed, teamed up with nine car seat manufacturers to educate the community about proper selection and installation of child safety seats at a recent car seat checkup event.
More than 30 volunteers, including manufacturers' employees who are nationally certified car seat safety technicians, checked 100 car seats, and more than 60 seats were provided at no cost to families in need.
Safe Kids Clark County is a program of Sunrise Children's Hospital and holds car seat checkup events throughout the year.
