Biosketch: 
Estella C. Parrott, M.D., M.P.H., joined the staff of RSB in 1998. In this capacity, she serves as the Program Director of the Reproductive Medicine Gynecology Program. Dr. Parrott's research portfolio encompasses basic science, translational, and clinical investigation of the gynecological aspects of reproductive tract development and function. This includes research on infertility, and the benign diseases and disorders of the reproductive system. An important focus of her work is to promote the independent careers of physician-scientists who can address research opportunities relevant to women's reproductive health. She is the Program Officer for the Reproductive Medicine Network, Reproductive Scientist Development Program, Cooperative Reproductive Science Research Centers at Minority Institutions, Specialized Centers of Research on Sex and Gender Factors Affecting Women's Health, and the Women's Reproductive Health Research Career Development Centers. Dr. Parrott earned an undergraduate degree in biology from the City College of New York and a master's degree from the University of Chicago. She received her degree in medicine from the University of Illinois Medical School. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and has another master's degree in public health from The George Washington University. Before assuming her current role, she held positions with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Health Resources and Services Administration.
